National Grandparents Day

National Grandparents Day is coming up on September 13th, the first Sunday after Labor Day. It’s not a public holiday but it is a special one and worth remembering. Grandparents matter too. After a little research, I learned that ‘forget-me’nots’ are the official flower. They are also my all-time favorite. Hint! Hint!

Here are several ways you can celebrate Grandparents with your loved ones. Cook a meal and take it to your parents house and share it with them or invite them out to a buffet lunch. Or bake a cake and take it to them.

If you have small children, let them draw and color cards for the grandparents. Put a pack of forget-me-not flower seeds in the envelope.

If you live far away, a phone call or video chat would be nice and appreciated. Let them know you are thinking about them.

Happy Grandparents Day to all you grandparents out there!
