Editor’s Notes…

   The rain yesterday was a blessing. My poor neglected flower beds outside needed this rain so bad! So did I. It cooled things off.

     We had a nice service at church today. Brother Meeks really did a good job preaching and leading song service today.

      I made a copy-cat Cracker Barrel hashbrown casserole and BBQ smoked sausage for lunch today. It was very good. I know we had very little left over.

     I was looking through the website this week trying to find ways of improving it. I have several ideas in mind but it will take some time to get all the repairs and improvements made as we go along.

     In other news, let me remind you about National Grandparents Day coming up on September 13th, the first Sunday after Labor Day. It’s not apublic holiday but it is a special one and worth remembering. Grandparents matter too. After a little research, I learned that ‘forget-me’nots’ are the official flower. They are also my all-time favorite. Hint! Hint!

     Here are several ways you can celebrate Grandparents with your loved ones. Cook a meal and take it to your parents house and share it with them or invite them out to a buffet lunch. Or bake a cake and take it to them.

     If you have small children, let the, draw and color cars for the grandparents. Put a pack of forget-me-not flower seeds in the envelope.

     If you live far away, a phone call or video chat would be nice and appreciated. Let them know you are thinking about them.

    Happy Grandparents Day to all you grandparents out there!

     September 11^th (9-11) is coming up in a few days. Remember to say a word of prayer for the victims and their families that was involved in that so many years ago.

     Don’t forget to change your clocks back in November. Daylight savings time will move back in most states on November 1, 2026. Mark it on your calendars. At 2:00 a.m., clocks will return to 1 a.m. standard time.
